Supported by external consulting trainers, the center’s training department offers trainees personalized follow up on issues treated in different modules.

The IKAM is a resource place for issues concerning professional orientation and specialization, and in general, all matters related to the organization of a cultural environment.

THE TRAINERS

 

LEARNING CONTENT

The learning contents of the trainings are set by our team in collaboration with external consultants. Some of these courses may be organized in partnership with specialized national training centers. Some of them led practice during the events organized by the Centre and/or the Festival sur le Niger.

These courses are intended primarily for an audience already involved in the cultural landscape. They are meant to improve capacity building, and encourage specialization and professionalization.

These courses offer qualification, a certificate is delivered at the end of each course and they are a sign of trust and quality.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

The department of education is responsible for the conceptualization and implementation of pedagogical plans, development and realization of professional seminars, meetings, also for conducting studies.

TOPICS

The topics tackled are either very specialized (technique, security, artists management, editing, discography, live performances, organization of an exhibition, copyright, etc.) or general (cultural entrepreneurship)

The training sessions are held four times a year, and take place in the Center facilities.

2011 Training:

  • Cultural Entrepreneurship (five days)
  • Law and legislation within the Cultural Scene. (five days)
  • Techniques in live performances: Sound system (5 days + 1 day of internship)
  • Stage management of live performances. (10 days + 3 days of internship)Top

 

MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS

The Vocational Training Institute called “Kôrè Arts & Professions Institute” (IKAM in French)'', conducted in accordance with its program of activities, the training module in cultural management (from October 05 to 08, 2011) on the theme:

"The Management and Organization of Cultural Events".

The participants were cultural entrepreneurs and organizations in charge of organizing cultural events in Mali and other countries of West Africa.

This training seminar was moderated by Mr. Youba Bathily, Mr. Vincent Gornet and Mr. Mamou Daffé.

ARTISTIC EDUCATION ON MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND DANCES

The center provides opportunities for actors of the professions of art to work in a framework based on rehearsals and training that include:

• Training in musical instruments : From Monday to Tuesday, 3hrs /day, from 16h to 19h
• Residences in contemporary dance each semester
• Residences for visual artists three times a year
• The initiation for young students every Saturday.

WORKSHOPS & MASTERCLASS

The International Workshops this year were mainly on the theme:

"Changes"

and consisted of three major visual arts workshops:

 

  • 1- The Sculpture Workshop, held all of its promises, which were: a space of expressions for African artists with an international level. They came from Benin (Ludovic Fadaïro), Burkina Faso (Siriky KY). Amahiguéré Dolo (Mali) completed the list of leading visual artists of the sub-region to provide a new feeling to the creation of sculptures.
  • 2. The Master Class conducted under the supervision of the famous Malian artist Abdoulaye Konaté.
  • 3. The Painting Workshop consisted in a remarkable mural painting workshop. It was a creative space for international young African artists, sculptors and photographers. They were from Côte d’Ivoire (François-Xavier Gbré), Mali (Mamadou L. Touré a.k.a Bako), (Yousouf Diarra), (Modibo Doumbia) and (Souleymane Ouologuem), who turned the Foundation’s external wall into a monumental work of art!
